Senior Scientist Anode Coating
Position Scope
SES is looking for an anode/anode coating development scientist to join its R&D team in Woburn, MA. Knowledge of Li-ion & Li-metal battery development is highly desirable for this position. Successful candidates will focus on Li-metal anode, anode surface-treatment, and anode coating development. The Senior Scientist will be working closely with other scientists/engineers of varying backgrounds from multi-functional teams within R&D and engineering to tackle complex technical challenges and advance next-generation battery cell technology. The ideal best candidate for this role is highly self-motivated, thorough, diligent, and very organized. This position will be based in our Woburn, MA location.
Responsibilities
The primary role will be contributing to the R&D of Li-metal battery.
Design experiments and develop validate materials/strategies to stabilize Li-metal anode.
Maximize the battery performance by identifying failure mechanisms, and uncover underlying chemical, electrochemical and physical changes.
Analyze and characterize interactions between anode and electrolyte, and quickly reveal the fundamental understanding of different battery components.
Provide technical expertise on structure-property-performance to anode materials development.
Work with external vendors & collaborators in design experiment, result interpretation, and report written to achieve project milestones.
Qualifications
PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical/Polymer Engineering, or related fields.
Expertise and Hand on experience are required for the anode/anode coating fabrication process.
Having industrial-oriented experiences with Li-metal batteries is preferred.
Ability to lead technical efforts to troubleshoot issues that may arise in process development and scale-up.
Ability to execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Analyze design reliability and cooperate with other colleagues on detailed design work.
