Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager The Senior Project Manager is responsible for field and office coordination of all projects, current and upcoming, by preparing and managing all required documentation and resources to ensure administrative issues stay ahead of project progress in accordance with contract documents. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with all Project Managers, Project Engineers, and the management team to address project discrepancies, communicate updates, and ensure that all crew members and staff are following the best safety practices at all times.

Managing site research and preparing feasibility reports for new projects

Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions, construction status checks, and train team members for these roles

Prepare, manage, and review engineering reports and construction specifications

Manage project folder organization

Monitor teams and own efficiency and workload in coordination with the Vice President

Assist, manage, and train team members using AutoCAD to address review comments and prepare plan updates

Attend City meetings pertaining to assigned projects (including, but not limited to Planning & Zoning Commissions, City Council, pre-development, and pre-construction meetings)

Visit job sites to stay abreast of all project activities and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract

Serve as a liaison for managers, supervisors, and subcontractors

Create and maintain project management checklists as needed

Investigate potential problems and implement corrective measures

Establish a close working relationship with team members and Project Manager

Supervise junior Project Managers and Project Engineers

Develop, manage, and ensure quality control plans are established and effectively implemented

Communicates with the Survey Department on proposals, scope, work needed, and budgets

Have had a Professional Engineer License for 5+ years

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Proficient in producing engineering drawings and calculations

Must provide guidance on the production of engineering drawings, calculations, submittals, and reports

Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with all level of employees oral and written within the organization as well as with clients and public agency officials

Highly effective interpersonal skills with all levels of employees within the organization

Self-starter & has the ability to work interdependently within a team environment

Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs

Civil 3D, Hydrographs, Hydroflow Storm Sewers, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS

A comprehensive understanding of platting and other entitlement processes

Proficient in identifying project critical paths and coordinating accordingly

Ability to diagnose calculation problems and provide guidance to subordinates

Experience with Project Management / Accounting Software (AJERA) preferred

The Engineer in Training (EIT) is responsible for assisting the Project Engineers and Project Managers in the

preparation and coordination of engineering design items under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer

(P.E.). The EIT's primary role is the design of infrastructure for residential and commercial land development projects.

Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers in the production of project plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports

Write technical engineering reports with calculations

Develop Feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements, and cost

Performing site research and preparing feasibility reports for new projects

Conduct field visits to understand existing site conditions and construction status check

Maintain and troubleshoot project folder organization

Civil engineering design in coordination with Project Engineer

Assist with intern training and workload

Utilize AutoCAD as appropriate to address review comments and prepare plan updates

Monitors own efficiency and workload with the assistance of Project Project Engineer

Communicate with the Survey Department on work needed

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from An ABET accredited college or university

1-4 years’ experience

Received E.I.T. certification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience

Experience in civil design – site commercial and/or residential design

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD Civil 3

Proficient in producing engineering drawings and calculations

Effective communication skills both oral and written with all levels of employees within the organization

Self-starter and has the ability to work interdependently within a team environment

Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur in project needs
