Hartford Fire Insurance Company in Hartford, CT, has the following opening for a Data Engineer.
Summary of Duties: Participate in software development lifecycle process in support of continuous data delivery. Develop data assets that support organizational decision-making via prototyping, data discovery, and profiling. Leverage data mining and business intelligence tools. Partner with various parts of the organization to build a working knowledge of the organization, business, processes, and its customers to determine system needs. Solve a range of multi-dimensional technical and business questions through data analysis. Work independently and act as a resource for colleagues. Telecommuting available.
Qualifications: Position requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering; plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or alternate occupation of: Data Engineer, Software Developer (all levels), Software Engineer (all levels), Software Development Engineer, System(s) Engineer, Security Engineer, Test Engineer, Quality Engineer, Engineer, Computer Systems Analyst, Computer Programmer, Programmer Analyst, IT Analyst, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Web Application Developer, Developer (all types/levels), Web Application Programmer, Data Scientist (all levels), Member of Technical Staff, Technical Lead, Technical Consultant (all levels), Project Lead, Consultant (all levels), Associate Consultant, Research Assistant, Intern. In addition, position requires 1 year of experience in the following skills: Hadoop (Sqoop, Hive, NoSQL); ETL Processes; SQL. Telecommuting available.
Salary Range: $129,500.00 - $146,400.00 per YEAR

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$129,500.00 - $146,400.00
