Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science or Technology degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required plus a minimum 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
As a Scrum Master/Task Lead, you’ll be facilitating your team’s progress toward their goals. You will be a Lean-Agile Coach ensuring the team is working toward the Agile, SAFe, and DevOps principles. You’ll be a Servant Leader bringing out the best in your team members while creating a culture of relentless improvement enabling the team to innovate new ways to increase quality, reduce cycle time, and improve the team’s ability to meet and exceed their customer commitments. You will be responsible for guiding the team through the execution of their commitment: developing the Sprint and PI plans, executing to them, and overcoming impediments that develop along the way. You will be working alongside a Product Owner managing the team’s backlog to aid in Story definition and priority.
As this is a large program, your role as a Scrum Master for a team expands beyond the team to progress the entire program forward. Using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), you will be working alongside other Scrum Masters supporting Program Level ART Syncs, Communities of Practice, Program Increment Planning, and Coaching at all levels. You will be coordinating work dependencies with other teams to ensure that the committed Features get done on time and with high quality.
Our Scrum Masters track metrics so that we have hard data to understand our progression and determining how best we can improve.
Scrum Masters wear many hats including managing and tracking to a budget and providing direct personnel management.
KEY ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
Distinguishing qualifications include: Functional: Oversight of a function with moderate size, complexity or impact
Experience or familiarity with executing using Scrum
UNIX, LINUX, Windows Operating Systems experience
Have or achieve Scrum Master (CSM) Certification
Have or achieve SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) Certification
Strong communications background (written, spoken)
Experience presenting technical concepts to a variety of audiences including the customer
Strong experience cultivating and maintaining relationships
Must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and be able to handle multiple tasks with little supervision and 5+ years managing a technical team or project(s)
Project management experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Eight years of demonstrated Scrum Master and/or Product Owner experience
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the all or part of the following technology disciplines: Windows server applications, systems and network virtualized environments
Red Hat LINUX Environment
GitLab Continuous Integration tool chain including automated build capabilities and checkers
Jira or Rational Team Concert
Software life cycle development
DevOps
