As an Internal Communications Manager, you will support their HR Acquisitions & Integration Project Manager in managing incoming M&A projects. Your primary responsibility will be crafting critical communications and contributing to the comprehensive communication strategy aimed at acquired and internal employees. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of complex communication tasks, aligning with multiple dynamic deal timelines.
This will be a W-2 contract position that will last until the EOY and possibly be open ended. This Internal Communications Manager can work remotely or go on-site to their Chicago HQ, they will be expected to work full-time hours, 35-40 hours/week.
Internal Communications Manager Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication plans and strategies for M&A activities, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives
Craft clear, compelling and timely communications targeted at various stakeholders, including employees, executives and external partners
Collaborate closely with the HR Acquisitions & Integration team to support seamless integration processes and employee engagement initiatives
Manage communication channels such as intranet, newsletters, town hall meetings and other platforms to keep employees informed and engaged throughout the M&A process
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on communication strategies, providing insights and recommendations to enhance employee understanding and morale during periods of change
Monitor feedback and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes
Internal Communications Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field. A Master's degree is a plus
5+ years' proven experience in internal communications, with specific experience in managing communications during mergers and acquisitions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and stakeholders
Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into effective communication strategies
Experience in the real estate industry or related sectors is preferred but not required
