Job Summary :

ADLINK is looking for a talented BIOS Engineer to join our team in San Jose, CA. This role will be part of a highly qualified and industry leading engineering team at ADLINK. We are looking for both entry level recent grads or experienced engineers. We are willing to train up recent grads with a strong engineering educational background.

Essential Job Functions (include, but are not limited to the following):

Responsibilities:

•Primarily responsible for the development of Unified Extensible Firmware Interface ("UEFI") Basic Input/Output System ("BIOS") firmware for x86 based embedded PC modules.

•Create/modify UEFI BIOS firmware to meet customer and or product needs.

•Work with the hardware engineers on bringup and debug of products using UEFI BIOS.

•Work with customers to understand challenges and propose innovative solutions that can be implemented in system BIOS.

•Keep up on industry trends in the area of UEFI BIOS.

•Recommend training that could enhance UEFI BIOS skills.

•Provide recommendations on features that can be included in ADLINK products to add value.

•Work on customer provided hardware to debug system level issues.

•Possess expert level familiarity with the internal of PC BIOS.

•Work with other team members to root cause and resolve issue found internally and externally.

•Collaborate with team members on architectural solutions to meet customer and product needs.

•Provide lessons learned and tips to worldwide BIOS development team.

Required Qualifications:

•Must have strong C language skills with knowledge in hardware register level programming.

•Knowledge of X86 assembly.

•Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Linux, and real time operating systems.

•Must possess excellent debugging skills and a thorough knowledge of debugging methodologies.

•Must be organized, thorough and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Minimum of BS/CS or equivalent training or experience.

Our base pay range for this position is expected to be between $95,000 and $116,000 a year. Multiple factors are considered in determining base pay including an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
