WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for a full-time Occupational Therapist in our Irving location.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate and treat children and young adults with acute and chronic occupational therapy needs, considering all client factors, performance skills, performance patterns, and contexts/environments.
Work with children and young adults with a variety of diagnoses and needs, including but not limited to neurological, neuromuscular, developmental delay, pervasive disorders, mental health disorders/needs, cognitive impairments, and orthopedic injuries) to promote and or restore function.
Create a plan of care to achieve written short-term and long-term goals to facilitate increased participation and independence with meaningful daily occupations, including activities of daily living, instrumental activities of daily living, rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure, and social participation.
Collect data and document response to intervention, including collecting data, preparing charts, recording clinical progress notes, and performing other supporting duties.
Supervise Occupational Therapy interns, if applicable.
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Experience working with children with a variety of developmental delays and difficulties functioning in one or more areas of occupation.
Experience facilitating and promoting performance and independence with gross/fine motor, visual motor integration, and sensory processing and regulation skills as well as promoting cognitive skill development, self-regulation, social participation, play, and self-care skills.
Experience working with young children and/or their families.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with children, families, team members, and professionals in related fields
Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines for clinical documentation
Takes initiative to improve procedures or patient/therapist experience
Takes initiative to pursue skill development, continuing education, and keeping up to date with evidenced-based practice
Knowledgeable on and abides by all SPT clinical procedures and HIPAA guidelines

SCHEDULE:
Clinics operate from Monday to Friday. 9 AM to 6:30 PM. Monday to Thursday for
scheduled appointments and Friday for make-up appointments as needed.
COMPENSATION:
Pay per unit. An average full-time OT makes $52,000 to $65,000 per year. Biweekly Pay.
