THE OPPORTUNITY

Industrial Sun seeks motivated and energetic candidates to join our team as Vice President of Development, reporting to the company’s Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will have at least ten years of relevant experience in project development for utility-scale solar within the United States, with some of this experience in the ERCOT region. The Vice President of Development will be responsible for leading the development strategy for Industrial Sun’s utility-scale solar projects. This is an exciting opportunity to truly lead a critical function for these large, high quality projects, all in the midst of a dynamic and constantly evolving market.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement the overall development strategy for utility-scale solar projects.

Provide visionary leadership to the development team, ensuring alignment with the company's values, goals and objectives.

Evaluate market trends, identify opportunities, and recommend strategic initiatives to drive business growth.

Evaluate business cases and manage development budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Supervise, manage, and oversee development staff in pursuit of identified company development objectives.

Prepare and deliver regular presentations/reports on projects and development status to the executive team and IS’ board.

Project Development

Oversee the entire project development lifecycle, from site identification and acquisition to permitting, design, and construction.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful and timely project completion.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize project design, engineering, and technical specifications.

Stakeholder Engagement

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, local communities, regulatory agencies, and other industry partners.

Represent the company in negotiations, public hearings, and community outreach efforts to secure project approvals and support.

Risk Management

Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.

Stay informed about regulatory changes, market dynamics, and emerging technologies that may impact project development.

Financial Management

Collaborate with the finance team to secure project financing and manage budgets throughout the development process.

Conduct financial analysis and feasibility studies to assess project viability and potential returns on investment.

Experience:

10+ years of demonstrable expertise in project development for utility-scale solar within the United States

Project experience in ERCOT region

Extensive understanding of the entire project development cycle

A track record of effectively leading, managing, and cultivating high-performing teams

Experience in collaborating effectively with and ensuring alignment across diverse team functions, such as origination, finance, and engineering departments

Proven competence in negotiating and finalizing agreements and contracts related to project development

Strong financial acumen; familiarity with project finance concepts
