Description
Kitchell is currently looking to add a creative, organized and detail-oriented Safety Manager in Austin, Texas and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.
The Safety Manager will be responsible for inspecting the project work environment for any impediments to the safety and health of construction employees, the client and the public.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist and report to Senior Safety Manager.
Has the authority to STOP work in an area to remedy a serious or life-threatening safety deficiency.
Identify training needs for Kitchell project team. Provide training, including OSHA 10 hour courses.
Monitor and enforce the requirements of the project specific safety plan, Kitchell safety manual, applicable federal and/or state OSHA standards, and any owner specific requirements.
Assist project team in conducting safety preconstruction meetings.
Assist project team and trade partners with pre-task safety planning.
Assist with development of safety orientation for job site.
Assist project team with the development of safety risk mitigation plans.
Supervise KCI safety coordinators assigned to your jobs and assist them as necessary. Provide guidance for their professional development and training.
Responsible for facilitating early return to full duty work responsibilities for injured workers.
Monitor site safety inspections in Procore for frequency, accuracy and validation. Report findings on a weekly basis to Senior Project Superintendent and Senior Safety Manager.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree with a minimal of three years of construction field safety experience.
Minimum of 7 years of dedicated building construction safety with at least 5 years of experience in construction safety process management.
Experience and training on Fall protection, Scaffolds, Excavation, Confined space, Crane/equipment operations, Electrical and Incident investigation.
Licenses and Certifications OSHA 500 certification.
OSHA 502 certification.
Current CPR/AED/Emergency First Aid certification.
Valid driver's license.
Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.
Travel Requirements May travel between project sites on a daily basis.
