JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator

REPORTS TO: Information Technology Manager

FSLA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB OVERVIEW: Optimize Windows servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various business applications supported. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all enterprise server systems and software. Manage the company messaging infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Participate in the design and review of server systems and application deployments in both workstations and servers.

Administer all server operating systems and their corresponding or associated software.

Plan and deploy software applications to servers and workstations.

Support the IT Support Analysts to ensure efficient operation of the company’s desktop computers.

Configure, manage and administer Windows Exchange Server, M365, mail clients, calendars, archives and other components of the messaging infrastructure.

Perform file system and database configuration and management.

Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems of all servers.

Ensure that workstations and servers comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines.

Maintain company intranet using Microsoft SharePoint.

Perform and verify system backups and recovery procedures to ensure full data retrieval.

Distribute, monitor, and maintain server storage space allotments.

Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

Implement and maintain network infrastructure

Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Document work processes as required.

Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2 years equivalent work experience.

Experience: Minimum two (2) years technical experience in enterprise server environment.

Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server 2012, 2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022.

Experience in Active Directory migration, setup, and implementation.

Experience with design and implementation of Microsoft Exchange 2013 and M365.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to conduct research into Windows issues and products as required.

Powershell and Hyper-V experience required.

Specific knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012R2/2022, Microsoft Exchange 2013, M365, and Microsoft SharePoint required.

Working technical knowledge of Group Policy, Software Distribution, and Windows Profiles.

Strong familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking.

Cisco switching, routing, and security configuration experience required.

Ability to move or carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Ability to crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel to service computers and associated equipment.

Licenses, Certification and Special Requirements: MCP certification preferred.

Valid Washington State Driver’s License and good driving record.

On-call availability after hours for approximately 10 days per month.

Physical Requirements: Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.

Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients and coworkers in person and over the telephone.

Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other: The position is mostly sitting with standing and walking occasionally throughout the day. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing less than 5 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds. Requires occasional bending and reaching.
