Position Overview
The Civil Construction Estimator position is a pivotal role at Crowley Holdings, LLC. Our estimators are responsible for seeking out new opportunities, estimating construction costs, creating competitive advantages, and using a combination of skill and strategic trade partnerships to accurately budget the cost of heavy civil construction projects. We have built a reputation in our industry based on superior performance and customer service. Ideal candidates will have strong civil construction estimating experience, be a self-starter, team player, and be motivated with a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
Complete project budgets and detailed estimates, including detailed quantity take-off and pricing for self-performed trades.
Perform scope assessments and prepare and issue Scope of Work to bidders.
Establish subcontractor lists for each project and issue bid invitations.
Distribute bid documents to subcontractors. Set up bid forms.
Prepare preliminary schedules for bid purposes.
Maintain record copy of bid documents.
Prepare scope of work for each trade to be used in subcontracts.
Prepare bid tabulation for each trade and recommendation for award.
Conduct turnover meetings with Project Manager and Superintendent.
Build and maintain new relationships.
Organize and prepare written proposals to clients, including Sources Sought, Experience and Past Performance Statements, and Technical Proposals.
Qualifications
BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (Preferred).
3-5 years in the lead role, estimating heavy civil construction.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong technical and communication skills are critical.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferred).
