JobPosting : Manages the manufacturing duties of an organization whiledeveloping and implementing continuous improvement strategies in amanufacturing setting.
CoreDuties:
· Assists with overseeing all duties associatedwith manufacturing operations, including production, processing, machinery, andpackaging.
· Develops a manufacturing plan and productionschedule and modifies employees’ schedules to meet that plan
· Leads and directs the work of other employees inthe manufacturing setting Supervision is often provided through one or moresubordinate supervisors or managers.
· Works with Operations leaders to optimize themanufacturing plan and production schedule to meet customer orders/demand
· Manages the development and implementation ofcontinuous improvement strategies in a manufacturing setting
· Studies the organization's manufacturingprocesses and identifies opportunities for process improvement or efficiencyoptimization.
· Recommends manufacturing processes designed tobe efficient, cost-effective, and to promote quality and reliability
· Tracks progress against established goals
· Manages the manufacturing equipment to establishcalibration and maintenance schedules
· Helps to troubleshoot and repair equipment.Shows results in reports. May train personnel in equipment usage and processes.
· Collaborates with functional leadership toidentify and select processes or projects for inclusion in the organization'scontinuous improvement initiative.
· Develops and monitors the implementation ofprocess changes meant to result in cost or waste reduction, productivityimprovement, customer satisfaction, and profitability increases.
· Recommended changes that may impact floorlayout, material flow, or machinery selection and use
Job Requirements:
· BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial orMaterials Engineering preferred; in lieu of a degree, candidates withsignificant manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.
· Candidates would have >5+ years experience inmanaging various manufacturing teams
· Ideal candidates will have polymer films orcoatings experience with significant involvement in process engineering,production operations and/or quality control environments.
· Familiarity with statistics &hypothesis-driven problem-solving methodologies; for example: Six Sigma, DOE,8D, DMAIC, Lean, etc.
· Interpersonal skills in developing positiveworking relationships with other employees working with the production process.Desire to lead projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
· Process-orientation with an attention to detail.
