About the Role
The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Procurement Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the company's complex and highly visible procurement operations, serving as the main liaison for statewide workgroups and initiatives, and leading standard work adjustments to improve the administration's practices. This role requires a deep understanding of state and federal statutes related to government procurement, the company's procurement code, and current best practices in the field. The Deputy Chief Procurement Officer will also be involved in training and instructing the procurement team, coaching and mentoring staff, and participating in problem-solving and policy definition at a statewide level.Applicants for the Deputy Chief Procurement Officer position at the company should have a minimum of five years' of professional procurement experience, including contract administration and writing, preferably in a high-volume government procurement setting. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, and governmental supply chain certifications are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, strategic sourcing, and the ability to negotiate complex contractual terms. Skills in coaching, mentoring, and leading teams are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. The role demands a candidate who can make sound decisions, build consensus, and maintain the confidentiality of procurement details.
