Senior Data Warehouse Engineer
AssuranceAmerica is seeking a Sr Data Warehouse Engineer to join our growing ranks as we continue to transform the way technology impacts the insurance business. You will work with a small team of experienced IT professionals and interface directly with stakeholders to understand their challenges and develop solutions. This individual will play a key role in transforming our legacy data warehouse into a modern cloud-based (Azure) solution. Your daily contributions will have direct, positive impacts on our employees, agents, and customers.

About The ROLE
Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as a Sr Data Warehouse Engineer in Information Technology, you will:
Provide technical leadership in design and engineering for the modernization of legacy Data Ingestion, ETL/ELT and OLAP cubes to new technologies in Azure.
Lead multidisciplinary projects or initiatives.
Have a strong understanding of Enterprise Data warehouse data models and dimensional modeling concepts, source to target mapping and Data pipeline architectures.
Serve as technical expert on data warehouse development projects. Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
Be a key participant in Data Strategy vision and planning.
Manage break/fix events and drive solutions to correct and prevent recurring issues.
Respond to user needs for ad hoc queries using T-SQL, and institutional reports using SSRS, Power BI and refreshable Excel Pivot tables.
Proactively communicate directly with business representatives to extract requirements and review work in progress.
Communicate data warehouse related issues, changes and outages to department manager and end-user community.
Recommend standards, procedures, and policies that help both the internal group as well as other operations and customer groups.
Demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to learning new technologies and techniques to enhance development skills.

Required
Requires a 4-year degree in computer science or a related technical area.
8+ years of experience as a SQL / Data Warehouse Developer in a SQL Server environment.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience designing, scaling, and/or implementing data warehouse and analytics solutions in Azure.
Strong T-SQL skills and the ability to performance tune SQL queries.
Preferred
Relevant certifications
Auto insurance experience
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
May be required to work on-call, evenings or weekends
