Roosevelt University (RU) is seeking a tenure-track or tenured faculty member at a senior level in Information technology or data or computer science starting Fall 2024 . Roosevelt University College of Science, Health and Pharmacy is looking to attract candidates who are interested in building strong degrees in Information Technology (MS, PHD ) and Data Science (MS) to attract and graduate diverse students who will transform STEM fields. We value faculty who can move beyond theory to application and have an interdisciplinary perspective. As this position is responsible for developing new masters and doctoral degree programs, a proven ability to lead curricular development and mentor faculty are critical skills.
The successful candidate will have an active research agenda in one of these fields, preferably with the potential to obtain grant funding. The faculty member in this position will be an integral part of the RU’s growth and innovation under its “Producing Research and Innovation through a Mentoring Ecosystem” (RU PRIME ) initiative as funded by the U.S. Department of Education under a highly selective, multi-year grant award. RU PRIME reflects our commitment to invest in a set of self-sustained and integrated graduate degree programs supporting underrepresented STEM students from entry into RU through graduation. An academic and culture leader, one of two in the grant’s structure, is sought to bring student-centric services and an innovative vision to bear on the initiative’s development, continual improvement, and fulfillment of its commitment to the Department sponsoring the work.
In addition to the research and teaching role as faculty member, the successful candidate will establish a faculty research cluster focused on information and computing technologies as well as lead three areas of program development. In collaboration with RU faculty and leadership, the successful candidate will design, earn accreditation for, and implement three graduate degree programs (two MS degrees to start and a doctoral degree later) over the duration of the grant and assist in developing a vertically integrated research ecosystem supporting underrepresented STEM students.
