What You’ll Be Doing:

Leadership: Assists the Director of Residential Services with hiring, onboarding, and training of Residential Support Staff.

Rotates the on-call consultation with the Director of Residential Services.

Co-facilitates monthly Residential Support Staff meetings with the Director of Residential Services.

Consistently monitors shelter conditions and timely reports concerns to the Director of Residential Services.

Monitors staff performance, reports concerns, and provides recommendations on necessary corrective action to the Director of Residential Services.

Assists the Director of Residential Services with data collection for food program requirements.

Provides coordination of intern affiliation with academic institutions.

Advocacy:

Responds to callers who access the SafeHouse Denver 24-hour crisis line Utilizes trauma-informed/empowerment models to provide emotional support, crisis intervention and de-escalation

Provides information and education on domestic abuse, trauma response, and coping skills

Supports callers in assessing immediate needs, identifying culturally appropriate resources and referrals, and supports callers in developing a plan of action

Provides safety planning by supporting callers in assessing danger/risks, identifying culturally appropriate resources and referrals, and supports callers in implementing their safety plan

Screens callers for shelter

Provides initial resident intakes Provides new resident orientation (facility and program information)

Reviews the resident’s presenting problem and conducts a needs assessment

Identifies immediate needs of the residents, identifies culturally appropriate resources and referrals, and assists residents with the development of an action plan

Provides safety planning by supporting residents in assessing danger/risks, identifying culturally appropriate resources and referrals, and supports residents in implementing their safety plan

Provides emotional support, de-escalation, and crisis intervention during the intake process

Provides short-term individual advocacy, short-term counseling, safety planning, and crisis intervention to residents (including children and adolescents) Provides emotional support, crisis intervention, and de-escalation to residents

Supports residents in developing short-term goals plans to address immediate concerns

Provides information and education about domestic violence, trauma response, and coping skills

Provides safety planning by supporting residents in assessing danger/risks, identifying culturally appropriate resources and referrals, and supports residents in implementing their safety plan

Timely communicates with Primary Advocates to strengthen communication and improve client services

Maintains accurate and timely record keeping / case management / charting.

Responsible for appropriate charting and all necessary documentation

Provides case management services for up to 5 emergency shelter/Extended Stay Program residents and their children Conducts a needs assessment and facilitates an initial meeting with new residents

Links residents to culturally appropriate resources and referrals

Meets with residents as needed to provide ongoing support and encouragement

Advocates on behalf of residents with external and internal entities to help produce short- and long-term health outcomes for residents

Supports residents with transitions from the emergency shelter by conducting exit interviews

Assists Director of Residential Services in b

Co-manages the Family Program Plans and facilitates evening groups for children and adolescents

Provides residents with parenting support

Manages and frequently updates the resource management toolkit for residents

Shares resources with shelter staff to ensure residents have access to viable resources at all times

Supports a safe, healthy, and secure shelter space Supports a safe, healthy, and respectful community living environment by providing emotional support, de-escalation, conflict management, problem solving, facility (health & safety) monitoring, and crisis intervention

Conducts and documents regular facility rounds, safety checks and safety searches

Provides and clearly explains information about the shelter program and clarifies resident expectations

Provides residents with resources including, but not limited to, hygiene products and food

Demonstrates initiative and vision for service quality, service improvement, program development/growth, problem prevention, and problem resolution Works diligently to achieve individual, team, and agency goals and objectives

Regularly communicates with staff throughout the agency to reinforce staff cohesion

Utilizes ethical communication to resolve problems or conflicts with team members

Attends weekly case management meetings, monthly all-agency meetings, and other program or agency meetings

Recommend innovations in programming and client services

Actively seeks and participates in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve skills

Represents SafeHouse and promotes SafeHouse services in a positive and professional manner Networks with other service providers and community agencies to assist clients and the agency

Rotates month long on-call shifts to provide adequate phone consultation and support to team members Responds to phone calls within 15 minutes of first contact by a fellow team member

Effectively supports and collaborates with onsite staff to address questions, and resolve issues as needed

Do You Have What It Takes?

Required: Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field Master’s degree in social work or related field

Two or more years of experience in a case management role Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills. Previous project management experience and proven organizational and time management abilities . Three or more years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence Strong technical aptitude with advanced proficiency in utilizing MS Office. Ability to work in a diverse environment. Passion for the SafeHouse Denver mission. A solid understanding of how people and organizations change and the ability to be adaptable.

What We Offer: Competitive Pay: $30-33 hourly rate, full-time position, non-exempt, with annual performance evaluations and an opportunity for merit-based increase
