This role will be responsible for implementing warehouse/transportation management tools, processes, competencies and monitoring and leading initiatives to drive efficient operations through our carrier and 3PL partners. Deploy best business practices including, but not limited to, productivity and process improvement, manpower utilization, overhead spend, capital utilization, indirect spend, utilization and efficiency, partner engagement. Also organize the KPIs and visibility, tying to financials driving periodic performance review, budget and AOP processes, Champions program, and implementing LogOs with 3PLs and carrier partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Accountable for tactical execution of transportation and warehousing operations in the region - service levels, cost and performance measures – right sizing resources, managing KPIs and partners impacting Logistics Operations.
Responsible for facilitating resolutions to operational issues. Create plans and ensure procedures and protocol are followed by 3PL Providers through evaluation of KPI measurements.
Drive effective balance on service levels and cost to serve in logistics – ensuring margin and desired service levels are maintained.
Drive productivity including strategic development of project/program and tactical execution of projects ensuring cost savings are realized.
Support and develop strategic initiatives to further automate and streamline the processes in transportation and warehousing space.
Support productivity, AOP/ budget and Champions initiative to execute and drive results within the regions
Implement tools and standardize processes at the sites to ensure they are minimizing spend, improve service while identifying root causes and working with sites on action resolution
Work cross functionally with transportation, deployment, warehousing and customer teams to drive improvements and lead network wide projects
Act as a change agent within the business, supporting management/cross functional decisions, challenging existing approaches and performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Logistics Operations
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar experience
Operations experience - managing vendors, setting KPIs, measuring performance, people safety and food safety, operational continuous improvement
Adept in project management, is a team player, detail-oriented and is proactive with a drive to deliver results
Understanding end-to-end logistics, analyzing cost and making decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels within the company
Continuous improvement, process mapping
Well versed in Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, Project and familiarity with Power BI, Tableau
Prefer familiarity with WMS/YMS/LMS systems
