Vice President of Engineering

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Engineering with a proven track record of building and leading teams to successful large-scale products, particularly within a microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, technology strategy, and team management, with demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environments. As VP of Engineering, you will play a crucial role and own our innovative technology as well as help define our corporate infrastructure. You will define our security efforts in order to maintain a high security posture. Sometimes, this role will require hands-on implementation to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions. This position will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities:
Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development.
Develop and execute the technical vision and strategy for the company, aligning with business goals.
Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable and robust software solutions leveraging modern technologies.
Define and enforce the highest security standards and practices company-wide, including SOC 2 and striving for additional relevant security certifications.
Work closely with the Director of Customer Success to understand the trends in customer tickets and to help prioritize the roadmap based on customer feedback.
Collaborate closely with the product, sales, and other cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver exceptional products.
Help set up engineering infrastructure and lead engineers in designing and implementing features and solutions.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, processes, and tools.
Monitor and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our products and technical strategy.
Promote a customer-centric culture, representing the voice of the customer in product and technical discussions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of successfully building and leading teams to deliver successful large-scale products, particularly within a microservices architecture.
Strong technical expertise in software development, with proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Demonstrated ability to take an idea to a fully functional product and business.
Basic understanding of AI and data modeling.
Understanding of Web3 technologies and their market trends.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Experience with agile development methodologies and modern software engineering practices.
Demonstrated ability to attract, retain, and develop top engineering talent.
Commitment to defining and enforcing the highest security standards and practices company-wide, including SOC 2, with a proactive approach to obtaining additional relevant security certifications.
