Austin Vet Care Metric located in Austin, Texas is looking for an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our growing team !

Sign on bonus available

The schedule for this position includes a 4 day, 10 hour shift or 5 day, 8 hour shift. We are closed on the weekends.

We are a busy 3-doctor practice located in the lovely city of Austin, Texas! We nurture not only our clients and their pets, but also our staff. We are looking for an exceptional individual who has strong medical skills and who thrives within a busy, friendly team. Our technicians educate clients, assist the veterinarians in exams and procedures, monitor anesthesia and surgical procedures, perform in house lab work, and much, much more!

Role Responsibilities:

•Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.

•With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.

•Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.

•Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.

•Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.

•Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.

•Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.

•Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements:

Have recent veterinary technician experience including knowledge of basic veterinary procedures and terminology, surgical/anesthesia prepping and monitoring experience, and understanding of wellness needs

Be punctual and considerate of those around them

Understand and embrace emotional intelligence

Communicate effectively and with confidence!

Be resilient and ready to tackle any challenges head on
