Included in this area of responsibility are receiving and shipping through the warehouse, deliveries, inventory activities and maintaining a safe and clean facility. Helps supervise staff including drivers and warehouse workers and helps facilitate new hires.Essential FunctionsHelps receive incoming material and assembles and marks shipments based on current frame, door and hardware scheduleAssists with material flow through warehouse, including receiving, shipping and storage, assuring accuracy and efficiency at all pointsFollows up on any shipping or other warehouse errors; tracks errors and costs and alerts appropriate departmentAssists in evaluation and purchasing any new equipment or vehicles neededConducts regular meetings with departmental staff to provide feedback on successes or receives information on problems that need a solutionMaintains high safety standards, helps assure that equipment in facility is in good working order and that individual operators (trucks, forklifts, welding equipment, saws or other shop tools) are properly trainedMonitors qualification of warehouse employees, including driver's MVR records, to assure safe operations and maximum operatingMonitors freight costs, assuring that all freight is properly absorbed in inventory and cost of sales transactions, freight factors are accurately updated periodically and that actual freight cost is minimizedMay be involved with metal frame cross docking and pre-installation of hardwareMay assist with scheduling and delivery of pre-hardwared doorsOther relative duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experienceCurrent and valid US driver's license1 – 2 years of warehouse related experience with direct supervision of staff requiredMust pass pre-employment background check and drug test.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience using Microsoft Office products requiredExcellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills requiredExperience using Comsense preferredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; and reach or lift using hands and arms. Conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
