Responsible for providing the strategic vision and leadership for our Peer to Peer and Signature Events fundraising programs. The Vice President is responsible for strategic oversight of efforts to build the necessary infrastructure and the integrated plans for aligning strategies and processes for the Fundraising Program Department including but not limited to all peer-to-peer programs (walk, ride, run, DIY) and signature events (golf, gala, other special events).

The VP, Fundraising Programs facilitates collaboration across the entire Development team in support of the organization's national fundraising events and campaigns. Through collaboration and coordination with national and regional teams and Chapter staff, this role provides expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to ensure all event-based programs are positioned for success.

Through consultation and collaboration with national global development leaders, regional teams, chapter staff, volunteer partners and selected vendors, this position provides leadership to all event-based fundraising programs and events to deliver successful implementation and execution of the program strategy plan as well as evaluation of all events to ensure that all program areas achieve organizational goals and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides executive leadership to the Signature Events and Peer to Peer teams, partners cross-functionally with all organizational business units to help develop high-impact fundraising programs that drive revenue, acquire new donors, strengthen the organization's relationship with the broader T1D community and elevate brand and mission.

Serves as a member of the senior leadership team of Field Engagement; partners with the broader senior development team and regional directors to strategize on overall supporter experience and engagement within organization, brings expertise in program and events-based strategies.

Develops and deploys strategic plans in partnership with Peer to Peer and Signature Event leaders that focus on growth and align to organizational strategies.

Provides strategic direction and leadership for the processes of budgets, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all core events with the field to ensure that all program areas achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Gathers feedback and innovative ideas, leverages industry best practices, analyzes impact of change with field and end-user stakeholders, and implements process enhancements.

Provides oversight of financial management tools and resources including budgeting and forecasting in the department in partnership with Finance and Data and Technology to monitor program revenue and control expenses.

Manages, coaches, and develops direct reports, ensuring that the responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities are well-defined in the areas of revenue, reach, and retention.

Establishes, communicates, and maintains departmental and organization wide policies and procedures related to all fundraising programs.

Actively demonstrates and cascades the enterprise-wide mindsets: integrity, collaboration and stewardship and drives collaboration and shared opportunity planning across all fundraising programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

12+ years of non-profit development including with matrixed organization(s) in the disease space, special event fundraising, training, and strategic management experience. 5 years preferred in a leadership management/supervisory capacity.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Vast knowledge of signature event fundraising, peer-to-peer fundraising and event-based fundraising.

Excellent project management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects and deadlines in fast-paced environment, involving cross-functional teams with persistent attention to detail while maintaining a global view of the situation.

Proficiency with technology to support the development process and ideal user experience, including digital fundraising and special events fundraising platforms (Luminate Online, Greater Giving, One Cause, Salesforce preferred)

Experience in non-profit management with emphasis on strategic planning, financial management, and Chapter and/or Regional development.

Direct experience in managing large fundraising campaigns, including campaign development, marketing/participant recruitment, service, and support activities.

Proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate staff and volunteers.

Ability to analyze and integrate information from relevant sources and respond to changing circumstances and priorities.

Strong strategic planning skills and ability to develop tools to enable development teams.

Proven track record of collaborative leadership, successful management, coaching and development of staff.

Excellent written, verbal, presentation/communication, and interpersonal skills; demonstrates ability to effectively convey ideas and provide instruction.

Ability to understand and work within a complex organizational structure.

Ability to develop a high performing team.

Ability to creatively find solutions to problems and analyze feedback to create best practices by partnering with key stakeholders.

Financial management experience in building and managing annual budgets.

Outstanding influencing skills to generate buy-in and create win/win situations

Estimated 40% travel is required. The work setting is in home-based office.

Target salary - $180k - $210k
