POSITION
The Sunwater Institute is seeking an Account Executive who will be responsible for selling the Sunwater Institute's digital platform, Legis1, and other legislative products. The primary audience the Account Executive will focus on are Federal Agencies and the Executive Branch. The Account Executive will be responsible for the full sales cycle from business development through to close. The individual in this position will be directly responsible for working with prospects to learn and understand their needs and establish how The Sunwater Institute can meet them. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and interest in government with sales and/or account management experience.
Responsibilities
Prospecting and identifying new sales opportunities by outreach to federal agencies and through networking and business development activities
Relationship building/communicating with prospects to gather information about their needs, budgets, and timelines
Qualifying and responding to inbound leads and prospects via phone and email
Holding virtual and in-person trainings and demonstrations of Sunwater's revenue-generating products with the end goal of earning a prospect's business
Collaborating with key decision makers to identify opportunities and develop ideas that deliver sales results
Attending trade shows, networking events, and hosting customer events
Organizing regular client meetings to ensure excellent account management
Reporting and recording all sales activities in a web-based CRM system

Prior sales experience is strongly preferred
Strong ability to build relationships and foster account growth
Must be able to work independently to develop sales opportunities
Desire to work in a fast paced environment
Self-starter who is results-driven and wants to make valuable contributions to a growing team
Problem-solver with a keen ability to prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of databases and subscription products
Exposure to, or experience in sales to government, politics, policy, or advocacy/government relations organizations such as working on a political campaign, on the hill, or in an advocacy/lobbying firm would be preferred
