About the Role

At GoodRx, data and analytics is built into the DNA of how we do business. Understanding, identifying and measuring business and growth drivers is an extremely important part of the decision-making process throughout the company. We're seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to support the marketing team with all aspects of analytics to drive strategic decision-making regarding core consumers and health care providers.

The ideal candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise, along with natural curiosity and a creative mind. They will be adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for marketing and product optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to dive into the details, ask questions, make recommendations, and drive results that improve business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of business strategies, marketing techniques and customer analytics.

Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new and existing data sources and data gathering techniques.

Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

Develop and use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.

Develop and/or enhance advanced analytics solutions across including but not limited to Marketing Mix Models, Paid/Owned/Earned Media Effectiveness, Cross Channel, or Multi-Touch Attribution, Test-and-Learn or Experimental Design, Customer Segmentation Analyses, and Marketing Investment Optimization.

Execute and measure analytical experiments to help solve problems across various domains within marketing.

Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.

Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

Skills & Qualifications

5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, with a 4-year degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field or the equivalent in years of experience.

Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.

Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with an emphasis on identifying mathematical or quantitative-based solutions for business challenges.

Strong business acumen and prior experience working closely with Finance teams on financial forecasting models and reporting.

Experience working with and creating data architectures.

Knowledge and experience of advanced statistical techniques and concepts such as but not limited to: supervised learning (classification, linear/non-linear & logistic regression, time series modeling), unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction, anomaly detection) and experience with its applications.

Knowledge and experience of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.

Experience building econometric models for media mix and marketing attribution solutions and causal inference applied to marketing problems (geo-testing, uplift modeling and root-cause analysis) is a big plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams, with an emphasis on storytelling/visualizations, and being able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.

The pay ranges below are shown as a guideline, and the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business and organizational factors.
