Data Engineer (Mid-Level)

Description: In this role you will be part of the Internal Audit Data Analytics team, focusing on data management activities in support of various software and analytic development efforts. Some of your main responsibilities will include ingesting new data into the team's SQL Server environment, managing existing database-related processes, and implementing process improvements where needed. You will be responsible for building, testing, and validating data models and supporting analytics using advanced data methods. Other responsibilities will include using your knowledge of a variety of data types and interfaces such as RESTful APIs to build effective data pipelines as well as assessing tools and validation processes to help Lockheed Martin distill complex data into actionable insights that drive operational strategic initiatives. The selected candidate will be comfortable working independently and taking initiative to learn emerging technologies.

This position is virtual to corporate headquarters but employees must be located at or near a U.S. based Lockheed Martin business unit work location. The salary for this position will be adjusted to reflect the salary band for the geographic location of the selected employee. The locations listed in the requisition are for convenience only and will be adjusted to the selected candidate.

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

•Strong SQL skills

•Proficiency with database support including database performance tuning and database configuration management.

•Demonstrated experience deploying the complete DevOps Lifecyle including integration of build pipelines, automated deployments, and compliance scanning using test-driven development.

•Strong understanding of traditional business intelligence, data engineering, and data warehousing concepts including ETL, data modeling, and reporting.

Desired Skills:

•At least 4-6 years of professional experience.

•Demonstrated ability to manage project timelines and deliver within time constraints.

•Ability to express ideas, thoughts, concepts, and problems clearly and succinctly in writing.

•Ability to work in a virtual environment, obtaining results with limited supervision

•Demonstrated experience working with multiple data source types.

•Demonstrated experience creating documentation, cataloging and maintenance of Data Dictionaries.

•Demonstrated experience with some of the following tools: SAP Hana, LM Data Lake, SSIS, Alteryx

•Demonstrated experience with Rest APIs, JSON, text files, and Excel files.

•Demonstrated experience using Automation and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $103,100 - $194,300. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
