Division Information
Dynacraft, a PACCAR Company, is headquartered in McKinney, TX. a suburb of Dallas. Dynacraft is a diversified global manufacturer of PACCAR medium- and heavy-duty truck parts sold under Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. For fifty years Dynacraft has provided the company's truck divisions and PACCAR Parts division with high quality components, subassemblies, and specialized services. Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.
Job summary
The Materials Planner will reside at the McKinney, TX location or Louisville, KY and reports to the Materials Planning Supervisor. This position will be responsible for materials planning, inventory management, supplier shipping performance, materials expediting as well as cost reduction projects focused on supply chain optimization.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Manage multiple suppliers supporting Dynacraft’s manufacturing and distribution facilities.
Proactively work with suppliers, customers, production, and other internal customers to ensure KPIs goals are met for material availability, premium freight, surplus and obsolete, and inventory turns. Fact based decision making is a requirement for success.
Assist with process improve procedures that align with Division quality goals.
Execute best practices for parts planning methodologies (ABC analysis, cost out parts, discrete POs, scheduling agreements) and forecasting tools.
Exercise best practices for supplier relationship management (supplier performance review with senior management, supplier site visits, and supplier discrepancy resolution).
Identify improvement opportunities for supplier packaging, shipping, logistics and production processes; closely work with supplier to implement lead time reduction solutions to improve supplier delivery reliability.
Analyze critical material shortage drivers to improve material availability, and safety stock adjustments with demand planning team.
Proactively balance inventory levels between plants to avoid material shortages, surplus or obsolesce.
Process suppliers POs according to lead times and follow MRP messages to avoid material shortages, surplus, or obsolesce.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of relevant supplier management experience, strongly desired.
Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to handle the demands of a just-in-time manufacturing environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Creative, quality and results-driven mindset.
Strong project management multi-tasker skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint.
SAP Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) knowledge and experience strongly desired.
Working knowledge of basic statistics, EDI and operations management concepts strongly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing facility operations, assembly and heavy-duty truck industry strongly desired.
Education
Four-year degree in Business Administration (or related field) strongly desired, or e quivalent work experience in materials planning.
SAP Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) training desired.
Truck Production experience desired.
Continuous Improvement experience desired.
Six Sigma training desired.
