Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for inspecting a wide variety of products to ensure compliance with customer and industry drawings, specifications, and purchase order requirements. The Inspector is responsible for the accurate inspection of aircraft hardware using a variety of calibrated measurement tools, including visual inspection and the review and verification of manufacturers certifications. The Inspector is required to accurately report inspection results and document any product that is nonconforming.
Key Responsibilities
Perform dimensional and visual inspection of products using micrometers, calipers, thread gages, optical comparator, and other standard inspection equipment
Read and interpret fastener drawings such as MS, NAS and AS standards, customer drawings, supplier drawings, and related specifications
Create master inspection records
Review certification packages for completion, legibility, traceability, and accuracy
Accurately measure and document all inspection and verification activities
Accurately document any nonconformances detected
Read, understand, and follow internal instructions and policies
Communicate with the department supervisor and other inspectors, ask questions, learn, and gain experience, knowledge, and skills in this role
Nature and Scope
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need to sit for extended periods of time, prioritize and process orders waiting inspection, accurately inspect the order and document the inspection, complete all forms and computer transactions.
This position is an entry level position or for an individual with minimal inspection experience with aerospace hardware. It requires the ability to listen, read, comprehend and apply what is learned to the inspection and documentation p
