The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University seeks highly motivated individuals who have completed training in anesthesiology to join the department at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the University Medical Line or Clinician Educator Line. Academic line and rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. In addition to those with general training, the Department is interested in individuals with training and experience in: Cardiac Anesthesia, OB Anesthesia, Pediatric Anesthesia, Pain Management, Critical Care Medicine, Regional Anesthesia, or anesthesia-related research.

+ The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the **University Medical Line** shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

+ The major criterion for appointment as **Clinician Educators** is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

The successful candidates must have an MD, DO, or foreign equivalent, be board-certified or eligible for certification, and eligible for a California medical license or exemption. The successful applicants will spend a portion of time in clinical anesthesia.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

+ Assistant Professor $417,000 – $427,000

+ Associate Professor $440,000 – $450,000

+ Professor $462,000 – $483,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
