Our client is seeking a Rig Mechanic to join their rapidly growing team. The Rig Mechanic is primarily responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing oil well drilling machinery and equipment. The Rig Mechanic will be working onsite repairing and maintaining equipment as needed.
Key Results Area Carry out field service and repair work at various rig locations
In addition to field service, mechanics might be working in our manufacturing and repair shop
Tear down rig equipment for repair and identify parts needed to repair
Build new rig parts and replace
Assist in machine shop as needed
Test completed rig equipment according to written procedures
Clean, lubricate, and adjusts parts, equipment, and machinery
Record parts and materials needed and request new parts and materials as necessary
Maintain a neat and orderly shop
Maintain test stands and equipment in accordance with ISO procedures
Know, understand, and abide by environmental policies
Weld as needed
Skills & Qualifications A minimum of three years of prior experience working on oil rigs
High School Graduate or GED/Vocational School
Hands on mechanical aptitude
Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a task
Capable of identifying and correcting conditions that affect employee safety
Strong decision-making skills required
Keep management apprised of work and backlog
Ability to use cranes, and other heavy and light machines, and equipment
