Systems AdministratorNewington, CTEmployment Type: Direct Hire Industry: Information Technology Job Number: 13224 Salary / Pay Rate: $80,000 - $95,000Job DescriptionSystems Administrator Location: Newington, CT - on site Job Type: Full Time Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 Position Summary: We're hiring a skilled Systems Administrator to manage and support a hybrid infrastructure spanning Unix/Linux and Windows environments. You'll ensure systems are secure, reliable, and high-performing while working closely with internal teams to align IT operations with business goals. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and support Windows servers as well as Linux/Unix in both cloud and on-prem environments Apply system updates, patches, and configuration changes for performance and compliance Administer core infrastructure tools (AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, NFS, SSH, etc.) Monitor system health, analyze logs, and troubleshoot complex technical issues Automate processes using Bash, PowerShell, or Python to boost operational efficiency Enforce security best practices and assist in vulnerability remediation Manage access controls and identity systems Create and test backup and disaster recovery plans Keep detailed documentation and support junior team members as needed Requirements: 3–5 years of experience in both Unix/Linux and Windows system administration Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Solid understanding of server OS (e.g., Windows Server 2016–2022, Red Hat, Ubuntu) Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure) Skilled in scripting and automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python) Familiarity with container tools like Docker and Kubernetes Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancing) Experience with ITIL frameworks and methodologies Certifications such as RHCSA, Azure Administrator, or similar are preferred INDI
