Loan Specialist (Bilingual Remote)

Philadelphia, PA, United States

Loan Specialist (Bilingual Spanish)

Department: Operations

Team: Loan Specialist

What Sets Us Apart:

At UMortgage, we have a customer-centric, service-based approach. We primarily focus on home purchases, providing an emphasis on consumer education, real estate agent relationships, and personalized experience for home buyers. Our goal is to empower our team members to always provide a best-in-class experience while prioritizing long-lasting relationships.

What We Need:

UMortgage is on the hunt for outgoing, professional, and highly organized Loan Specialists to add to our Loan Operations team! The Loan Specialist role is a full-time, high-touch, pipeline and file management role. While the Loan Officer (LO) role is defined by outbound sales activity and referral partner engagement, the Loan Specialist is designed for the process-focused, high-capacity loan technician. By relying on the LO counterpart to handle prospecting and relationship building, the Loan Specialist (LS) can originate dozens of loans per month from the “inside.”

Important distinction: Loan Specialists are not glorified LOAs. While some of the file-level responsibilities may resemble those of an LOA, the LS position overall carries more weight, responsibility, and ownership than that of an LOA. LSs are expected to be the keepers of the loan castle, the mortgage advisor/expert and the sales leaders of the division, not just closing deals but winning them. Apply today!

What You'll Do:

Educate potential borrowers on the various mortgage products and assist them in selecting the best options for their circumstances.

Collect and review borrower financial documentation needed for submission to UMortgage Operations team.

Evaluate borrower loan applications, credit history and financial data to determine loan eligibility.

Schedule and conduct in-depth pre-approval calls with potential borrowers.

Conduct follow-ups with pre-approved borrowers to check in on home shopping.

Submit fully completed loan applications and all required documentation to the UMortgage Operations team.

Register and lock loan files with various lenders and send appropriate disclosures as they pertain to the loan program.

Make and follow up on all necessary 3rd party orders as needed (Appraisal, Title, HOI).

Submit TBD underwrites as needed and coordinate with lenders to work through scenarios.

Provide consistent, real-time updates and proactively communicate with internal and external parties such as borrowers, referral partners, Loan Originators, and UMortage Operations team members.

Meet or exceed our service level agreements (SLA) for turnaround time between all internal and external clients.

Embrace and embody our company’s core values and consumer-centric model to provide superb customer service throughout the loan process.

Maintain detailed and up-to-date knowledge on lenders, products, guidelines, and processes.

Additional responsibilities related to business needs.

What You Need:

Active NMLS license.

Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal communication).

Minimum of 50units done in the last 12 months as the Processor, Loan Originator Assistant or primary Loan Originator on file.

Must have weekend and after-hours availability.

Proven experience analyzing and structuring loan files.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and referral partners.

Team-oriented, adaptable, and accountable.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
