About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Procurement & Strategic Sourcing to lead a team of professionals in the design and implementation of procurement strategies that align with best practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for a significant procurement spend, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services through strategic sourcing, collaboration, and technological innovation. This role requires a proactive leader with a strong background in procurement, including experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and vendor management. The Executive Director will be expected to develop and implement a strategic sourcing plan, conduct complex procurements, and manage a repository of sourcing information and contracts. Additionally, the role involves continuous process improvement, stakeholder partnership, and team leadership to foster a culture of excellence and efficiency.Candidates for the Executive Director position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with advanced degrees and professional certifications being a plus. Experience in procurement, particularly in higher education or within the state of Maryland, is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in procurement, be adept at managing high-visibility projects, and possess a strong understanding of digital procurement tools and processes. An essential aspect of the role is the ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
