JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage major aspects of plant operations to ensure on-time delivery of quality products globally while minimizing cost, inventory and waste.
Implement programs for continuous improvement of customer service, product quality, process yield, reduction of variable & fixed costs, & reduction of inventory.
Pursue synergies with other Ceramics/Abrasive Materials sites & implement best practices.
Manage plant financials such as budgets, purchasing, capital etc., to meet/exceed business expectations.
Prepare appropriate plant information needed to complete Company financial requirements such as strategic plans & budgets.
Implement key financial indicators to proactively monitor the plant’s progress.
Manage inventories to meet/exceed business expectations.
Implement & maintain programs to ensure that the plant meet/exceed Company requirements for Health, Safety, & Environment.
Identify & pursue continuous improvement programs for HSE & quality assurance.
Complete all Administrative requirements in timely fashion such as Monthly reports, manufacturing reports & analysis, etc.
Responsible for major operational decisions made at the site include: labor levels & allocations, material utilization, purchasing approvals (within assigned approval levels), maintaining budgets (both fixed and variable), inventory levels, capital expenditures (up to approval level), safety programs, maintaining financial control, ensuring all corporate policies and procedures are followed, ensuring OHSA/EPA, local, state and federal guidelines are followed as well as affirmative action guidelines.
Responsible for preparation of financial information required by the business to complete monthly financials, strategic plans, and budgets.
Types of financial information required include but not limited to variable & fixed manufacturing variances, inventory, and capital.
The incumbent is the highest level manager at Northampton.
Therefore, concise communication is required with the incumbent’s Manager and other key business staff, to ensure that the key strategic objectives of the business are met in an ever changing business environment.
Furthermore, continuous involvement with various Market/Business Managers, Customers, Sales Representatives and Research & Development are ongoing to provide value added products to the marketplace.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
10 years’ experience managing manufacturing operations in lieu of degree, acceptable.
2+ years progressive experience managing budgets and capital expenditures.
Powder processing knowledge with particular experience with Isostatic Pressing and Spray Drying process.
Very strong organizational, interpersonal, management & team building skills.
Good communicator via phone, e-mail and in person.
Good analytical ability to define problems and develop solutions.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as other CRM systems.
Small site of about 25 employees.
