As a Principal Solution Architect, you’ll be responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance with a focus on automation. You will own a C++ data collection and filtering library integrated into disparate applications in a wide variety of operating environments including iOS, macOS, Android, generic Linux distributions, and multiple embedded real-time operating systems. The broad target scope imposes significant constraints for both run-time resource utilization and development tooling.
About the job:
Work with software architects and other software engineers in the team to design and implement new functionality and features that meet the requirements provided by Product Owners and customers.
Troubleshoot and root cause bugs and issues reported by Quality Assurance and Product Qualification teams and implement optimal solutions.
Work with internal and external teams integrating the library to resolve issues and meet requirements and performance goals.
Provide technical documentation for both internal and external teams.
Qualifications:
Preferred Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math.
8 – 10 years of related experience
8+ years of experience as a C++ software engineer or systems engineer
3+ years of experience using C++ in embedded and resource-constrained environments
3+ years of experience using Linux as a software development environment
3+ years of experience writing technical documentation based on C++ code
2+ years of experience using Python to automate builds
2+ years of experience of creating and deploying Docker containers
2+ years of experience using Git to manage source code
Proven experience building tooling to test what you develop
Proven experience with online code review tools (Gerrit or GitLab preferred)
Proven ability to work independently in a software development environment
Proven experience working with bash, or similar scripting language
Experience writing technical documentation for consumption by other developer
Requires Daily Office Presence (3-5 days a week) at the listed location. No relocation assistance is provided.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience with WebAssembly
Familiarity with macOS
Experience writing Jenkins jobs/pipelines
Previous experience with Doxygen and Sphinx a real plus
Experience with JIRA
Our Principal Solution Architects earn between $158,200 - $237,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
