Dallas, TX - Hybrid (3 days onsite)

One of Vaco's publicly-traded clients is looking to onboard a Director of Finance to backfill for an internal promotion. This role will have 7 direct reports with oversight over all SG&A, managing the 5-year plan and budget for all functional areas and financial reporting/consolidated decks to the Board. In addition to the base and bonus package, the company offers a profit-sharing program vested over 3 years.

Responsibilities: Lead the FP&A function, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.

Partner with department heads and senior leadership to develop annual operating plans and long-term strategic initiatives.

Provide accurate and timely financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making and drive business performance.

Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor financial and operational metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Drive process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the FP&A function, leveraging automation and technology where appropriate.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business opportunities, evaluate investments, and support strategic initiatives.

Prepare presentations and reports for executive leadership and board of directors meetings, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and insights.

Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact the company's financial performance.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with [X] years in a leadership role.

Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SAP).

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Strategic thinker with a focus on driving results, identifying opportunities, and solving complex problems.

Experience working in [specific industry or sector] is a plus.
