Job description
Position Surgical Technologist- Surgical technologists work alongside and assist surgeons, nurses, and other members of the health care team throughout a surgical operation. The role of the surgical technologist is incredibly important because they ensure a sterile and organized environment.
About this unit:
The culture throughout the entire hospital is team and patient focused.
Everyone on the team are motivated and leadership is committed to mentoring through career mapping for educational and personal success.
Responsibilities:
Escorts or transports surgical patients to and from the operating room which may require applying appropriate transfer techniques.
Sets up the operating room with supplies and equipment according to the requirements of the scheduled case and physician’s preference card.
Promotes and maintains a sterile environment in all job assignments.
Performs scrubbing and circulating duties as directed.
Performs assigned operating room cleanup tasks including disposal, cleaning, inventory and restocking of supplies and equipment.
Applies knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology.
Experience
One year experience as an Surg Tech is PREFEERED
Will consider NEW GRADS
Licenses/Certifications
Certification in Surgical Technology
Current CPR/BLS
Additional Information:
3 hospitals in system. 1 at Lakeview with own Leadership team.
They are divided between North Shore & South shore of Lake. The North shore does not work in lock step with the South. They have their own anesthesiologist group & surgeons.
South shore (them) more Academic. Have downtown & Lakeside campuses
