Airport Drayage Company Inc., (ADC) is a local airfreight pickup, transport, and delivery-company with a presence in the Pacific Northwest since 1959. Family owned and operated, ADC currently operating with approx. 60 employees, 50 Tractors/Straight trucks (NEWER AND WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLES!) with terminals in Portland, OR (Hq.); Salem, OR; and Tumwater, WA.
Job Purpose: Local and PNW drop pick, live load/unload, local to local, container dray and LTL transfers.
Shift : Starting time: 17:00 or later depending on shift. RETURN HOME DAILY
Duties and Responsibilities:
Thorough pre and post trip inspections
Ensures correct loading of vehicle by loading product or material.
Maintains safe vehicle operation and protects load by complying with organizational policies and procedures, highway rules and regulations.
Maintains records by conscientious operation of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and Electronic DVIR, obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations and managing and notating other related paperwork.
Supports and contributes to the company's overall safety program.
Continually strives and is committed to self-improvement as a transportation professional.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing individual results as assigned and assists other drivers load or unload, if waiting in the warehouse.
Skills/Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of Class A driving experience
23 years of age or older
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
No more than 1 preventable accident in the last 3 years.
No DUI or reckless driving convictions in the preceding 5 years.
No positive controlled substance tests.
