Dealership: L0021 LAD Advertising Lithia & Driveway | Creative Design Manager The Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the design team, collaborating on projects, delegating tasks, and checking projects for quality and brand consistency across LAD’s proprietary brands (Corporate, Lithia, Driveway, GreenCars, DFC, and Internal Departments) for internal and external comms. This role combines creative thinking and strategy to accomplish company goals, while focusing on creating a wholistic and consistent brand experience across all deliverables/channels. The Design Manager will collaborate with the Creative Director, Content Strategy Manager, Project Manager, and internal/external clients to develop and implement successful design strategies in alignment with LAD’s vision, mission, and values.

Location: Portland preferred

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-5pm with flex

Travel: Occasional (quarterly)

Compensation: $95,000+ DOE

Responsibilities

Oversee internal and external brand campaigns; website deliverables, one to one communication, social media messaging, direct mail, print advertising and point of sale materials

Define and implement design system for use across all channels

Ensure brand consistency, quality, and accuracy throughout all deliverables

Establish creative strategy, budgets, schedules, and objectives that support department goals

Present strategies, concepts, and reporting to upper management speaking to specific numbers, expected outcomes, and results of team and campaign performance

Plan, design, and develop high quality work in a variety of mediums that adheres to deadlines while supporting company/department business objectives and audience needs

Collaborate with variety of stakeholders, peers, internal departments, and vendors to modify/create efficient processes and educate on brand message strategies

Build cross-functional relationships to drive goals forward

Ability to operate independently and bring ideas and solutions to issues raised

Grow synergies between creative teams across LAD to ensure brand consistency in systems, programs, and processes

Effectively lead, manage, hire, and mentor direct reports, assess skill level and strengths of team members, ensure the right skills are put on the right projects, coach team members to be more impactful and efficient in their work, and deliver critical feedback when necessary

Research and stay up to date on design tools, trends, target audiences, and consumer behavior

Update older content to meet new design standards

Improve and hone skills based on Director, Supervisor and Client feedback

Skills and Qualifications

Strong attention to detail; Sense of urgency and curiosity; A collaborator and problem solver.

BS/BA or University degree in design, creative, marketing, communications, business, or similar field.

Ability to take initiative as well as lead, motivate, and oversee creative teams to produce results.

Excellent interpersonal and strong presentation skills

Expert knowledge of digital and social best practices, agencies, vendors, and functions.

Experience building, leading, and developing a team of direct reports.

Experience working with a variety of clients and stakeholders

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, UI/UX Design, HTML, CSS, Figma

Understanding of video/animation production, and printing processes/tools/production

Experience creating robust PowerPoint presentations and templates
