**Job Summary and Qualifications**

**The OB Tech IIis a certified, non-licensed, OR Technician with additional duties in the specialty unit. The OB Tech II is responsible, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the Labor and Delivery operating room suites and labor room suites. + **Assists with surgical procedures in scrub duties, and in the orientation, training, and education of new personnel**

+ **Assists RN before, during, and after deliveries with patient and room care, set up, and cleaning; assists RN with transporting patients and belongings as directed, as well as clerical duties or other duties as assigned in order to facilitate the continuum of care for each patient**

+ **Facilitates the provision of individualized patient care**

+ **Reports to the Registered Nurse on each case and the Clinical Manager and the Director of Women and Children’s’ Services**

**What qualifications you will need:**

+ **OR technician course completion certificate or eligible experience permissible by board to sit for certification exam**

+ **Current OR Technician Certification Required**

+ **Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BCLS Required**

+ **One-year experience in acute-care setting preferred**
