This role is perfect blend of high-level strategic work as well as hands-on field operations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' experience within the construction industry and at least 5 years as a safety leader along with extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements.
Responsibilities and qualifications :
Design and develop the safety vision for the company.
Create and implement the safety manual, facilitate safety training sessions, coordinate monthly safety meetings.
Visit various construction sites to ensure materials, machinery and all other equipment are well-maintained and operational.
Ensure onsite superintendents are fully trained on all safety protocols.
Conduct risk assessment to improve workplace safety.
Manage and create site-specific health and safety plans as well as perform safety audits.
Partner with leadership to implement safety procedures and other safety initiatives.
Oversee the entire emergency protocols, daily safety program, weekly jobsite safety walkthroughs including incident investigations.
Document / file all OSHA required paperwork and forms while managing OSHA partnership and vendor relationship with insurance carriers.
Experienced with Workers' Compensation procedures - investigating work injuries, completing reports, implementing back-to-work programs.
Must have 10+ years of construction industry experience and at least 5 years in safety management.
Familiarity with creating and initiating safety programs.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Thorough understanding of the safety industry including extensive knowledge of OSHA standards, regulations and requirements.
A bachelor's degree in construction management, construction / industrial engineering or any related field is highly preferred.
Valid Driver's License.
