Software Design Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical Day in the Role: Purpose of the Team: The team is responsible for firmware and software development for surface devices, windows drivers development, and integration and build development for the next generation of surface devices
Key Projects: Embedded Firmware and Windows OS Drivers- growing window driver and window capabilities, seeing what system is causing issues and creation resolutions.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 10% meetings, 20% coding, and 70% bug triaging and windows dump analysis
REQUIREMENTS: Years of Experience Required: 5+ years of overall experience
Degrees or Certifications Required: No specific degree or certification will be required for the role
Disqualifiers: Resumes showcasing less than 12 months of remaining access will not be eligible for the role
Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate would have Experience debugging on windows, window driver framework, UMDF (user mode device framework).
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on feedback from the team and meeting deadlines.
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience Minimum 3 years' experience with debugging on windows
Minimum 1 year Working experience with debugging hardware/firmware/software interaction during board bring-up
Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Driver Development
