Position Summary

Trinity College seeks a staff that reflects the changing demographics of our student body. The Associate Director for Global Engagement supports the Trinity curriculum through initiatives that deepen our appreciation of diverse cultures, expand our capacity for intercultural dialogue, and engage in collaborative solutions toward a just and sustainable future. To this end, the Associate Director will play a leadership role working with office staff, faculty, and campus partners in programming that connects global learning opportunities with academic goals, advising, and inter-campus collaborations. The position supports the Sr. Director for Global Engagement ( OSA ) with managing the core functions of the Office of Study Away and promoting inclusive global engagement outreach and activities across the Trinity College campus.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manages the core event planning functions of the Office of Study Away. Collaborates with the Sr. Director and office staff in organizing key events such as Information Sessions, Pre-departure Orientation, Returnee events and other regular office programming.

Oversees student advising strategies, collaborates with campus offices and partner schools with recruitment and advising outreach, including study abroad fairs and conferences. Supervises the OSA Study Away Adviser.

Provides risk assessment and crisis management support, with primary responsibility for Incident Reporting and case management in situations of routine health and safety concerns. Serves as a back-up first responder for emergencies.

Responsible for the review of student evaluations, including follow-up where appropriate with students and/or program partners. Collaborate with Sr. Director and program staff in continual improvement of evaluation and assessment processes.

Work closely with OSA staff in coordinating the application, admissions, and enrollment processes of all study away programs, including Trinity Signature and Intersession programs.

Assists the Sr. Director and Faculty Advisory Council with curricular review, program development, assessment of Signature and Approved External Programs, and the support of other curricular or co-curricular initiatives to advance global engagement across the campus.

Works closely with the Sr. Director and other staff in oversight of the Trinity Signature. Programs and management of the Approved External Programs.

Perform other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need.

Qualifications Required: 3-5 years professional experience with a BA in a Liberal Arts field; or 5-7 years of relevant work experience or specialized training in lieu of the education requirement.

Preferred: MA degree in International Education, Higher Education Administration, International/Global Studies or other Liberal Arts disciplines.

Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with leadership, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders/constituencies.

Demonstrated capacity to integrate goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion across all dimensions of program promotion, enrollment, and student services.

Experience in program and/or project planning, implementation, and assessment.

Effective communication (written and oral) skills, including public speaking and virtual presentations.

Excellent human relations/customer service skills with the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work well with deadlines and to prioritize among multiple projects and communications with office stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to learn and use new technologies and software applications.

Ability to evaluate information, interpret and analyze data, and develop reports.

Ability to work independently, to supervise staff, and to collaborate as a team.

Ability to uphold a professional code of ethics and maintain confidentiality.
