Job Description Job Description SUMMARY
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accountant is responsible for efficiently executing accounting policies and procedures. In addition, the accountant will manage assigned transaction processing areas and will be crucial in ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. The position interacts with all functional areas of the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Under the direction of the Corporate Controller, support daily accounting functions of two legal entities, including journal entries, general ledger analysis, fixed assets, expense analysis, and bank transactions.
• Perform month-end activities according to the closing schedule, such as journal entry preparation, results analysis, GL account reconciliations, verification, and production of financial statements and management reports.
Produce monthly financial reporting for two legal entities.
• Assist in the coordination and completion of annual financial audits.
• Support the site’s finance team (as directed) by providing guidance, direction, and hands-on support for accounting and operations personnel.
• Assist in establishing and enforcing proper accounting processes, methods, policies, and principles.
• Provide recommendations to improve systems and procedures. • Produce ad-hoc accounting reports as requested.
• Perform other accounting-related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Working knowledge of the Oracle Enterprise Business System software. • Demonstrated experience in financial statement and financial reporting
preparation.
• Proven knowledge of accounting principles (US-GAAP), practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
• Able to be a self-starter and proactive in solving issues.
Capacity to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in analysis and review of financial statements.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to interact collaboratively with others.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• BSBA degree in accounting
• 5-10 years of accounting experience
• 2 years of experience in a position of equal responsibilities
