In this role you will be responsible for purchasing pre-established levels of parts, equipment, rotables, supplies, tooling, and/or material from approved suppliers; issuing purchase orders; ensures purchasing cost and profit objectives are obtained; assures timely delivery of material.
Essential Job Functions:
Completes purchase requests by verifying inventory and checking vendor sources for non-inventory items; prepares purchase orders for ordering stock and supplies; inputting purchase orders; expediting deliveries; Negotiates with vendors to obtain optimum quality, cost, terms etc.
Maintains master file of stock items by updating cross-reference data; updating price information, etc.
Ensures the accuracy and timely flow of purchase orders/associated documentation
Identifies and recommends suppliers by investigating potential suppliers; researching parts, equipment, materials availability and price.
Maintains purchase order file system by following policies and procedures; searching for misplaced items; reporting and recommending changes
Ensures replenishment of inventory, updates min/max levels by analyzing, summarizing information and trends, recommends new inventory stock and higher stocking levels
Expected to maintain general product knowledge of all disciplines, available to fill in for other buyers when necessary
Keeps immediate supervisor, appropriate department heads, and coworkers informed of all price increases, vendor buyouts, part number changes, vendor performance issues, quality issues, etc.
Maintain knowledge of other positions in the department and be available to fill in when necessary

Reads, writes, speaks and understands English fluently
Visual acuity correctable to 20/20
Limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and loud noises
Other:
Ability to attain & retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
Regularly scheduled attendance required
Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as directed
Education and Experience:
High School Graduate
Experience with computers
Four plus years of general aviation parts experience
