HDR is hiring a Senior Transportation Planner/Travel Demand Modeler for our Jacksonville, Florida office.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage travel demand model development, update, application, and maintenance
Coordinate with stakeholders to collect land use and transportation data, existing and future
Lead model calibration and validation efforts consistent with Florida and national standards
Lead model execution and applications for various transportation projects involving multiple modes
Present model results using tables, charts, and maps
Conduct quality control review of deliverables.
Maintain proper project filing and documentation
Provide technical assistance to model users
Assist with conducting model user group meetings
Provide in-house staff support to FDOT
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 10 years of travel demand modeling and transportation planning experience
Expertise in multiple travel demand modeling software (VISUM, TRANSCAD, CUBE, etc.)
Experience with both trip based and activity based models
Excellent data analysis skills using ArcGIS, R, and other software
Ability to produce high quality GIS maps and other visuals
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and stay organized. Highly responsive to requests from clients.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the Northeast Regional Planning Model (NERPM) and FDOT Work Program.
Professional registration such as AICP, EIT, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP
