**Job summary:** We are looking for an **Assistant Chief Engineer** to join our team of passionate individuals in **Meli White House Hotel.** As **Assistant Chief Engineer** you will assist the Chief Engineer in the day to day running of the Engineering department. You will take a hands on approach and lead by example. You will be responsible for the effective management of all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel in his absence.
* To ensure all hotel fixtures, fittings and equipment are maintained in good working condition and that defects are corrected promptly and recorded
* To deal with electrical, sewage, plumbing, heating and lighting issues and to ensure that they are maintained in good working order and that any defects are corrected promptly and properly utilizing H Mobile.
* Develop an understanding of switching and control arrangements of plant and ensure that it is kept in an optimal operational condition. To be aware of energy conservation and take necessary action in cost control.
* To keep up to date with all legislation as it relates to CCTV and data protection and seek direction in all cases of difficulty form Head of security and the Chief Engineer
* To provide a full preventative maintenance service as and when required to enable the hotel to operate to maximum efficiency at all times
* To supervise in house maintenance team and assistant with external contractors to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policy including noise transmission
* To communicate effectively with all heads of department over equipment and maintenance issues and requirements
* Ensure in conjunction with the Chief Engineer that all maintenance staff members attend all training sessions deemed necessary to the department and building in general
* To assist in the training and developing of the maintenance shift engineers, maintenance assistants and painter
