What You’ll Do As the Lead Data Engineer at Unify, you will spearhead our efforts to leverage data-driven insights for transformative solutions, with a specific focus on the construction and optimization of data lakes tailored for machine learning applications. Leading a talented team, you'll architect and implement scalable data pipelines and infrastructures that underpin our AI initiatives. Your leadership will ensure the seamless integration of varied and complex data sources, enabling advanced analytics and machine learning models to drive exceptional customer experiences. By promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, you'll position Unify at the forefront of data-centric solutions in our industry.
Key Responsibilities Architect and build a scalable data lake that consolidates diverse data sources, optimizing for machine learning and advanced analytics.
Lead the development and maintenance of high-volume data ingestion, processing, and analysis systems.
Implement and enforce data governance, quality controls, and security protocols, ensuring the integrity of data assets and compliance with industry and regulatory practices.
Collaborate with AI and machine learning teams to identify data requirements and integration strategies that support innovative models and algorithms.
Promote a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the data engineering team.
Drive strategic initiatives for data architecture evolution to meet future business and technology needs.
Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance, providing expert guidance on data infrastructure best practices.
Advocate for a data-driven organizational culture, empowering teams across Unify with actionable insights for decision-making and operational efficiency.
Requirements Demonstrated experience in designing and building data lakes specifically for machine learning and advanced analytics projects.
Strong foundation in data engineering principles, with expertise in data modelling, ETL processes, and big data technologies.
Proficiency in Python programming or similar with a focus on data processing.
In-depth knowledge of cloud-based data services and architectures, with hands-on experience in platforms like Google Cloud or AWS
Experience in cross team collaboration and consensus building.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and capacity to deliver under stringent deadlines.
Leadership experience building software engineering teams, fostering an inclusive, creative, and growth-oriented environment.
Nice to Haves Experience developing and supporting distributed Software as a Service products.
Direct experience with machine learning related data ingestion and operationalizing data science models.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and methodologies.
Advanced academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
Professional certifications related to data engineering, cloud architecture, or machine learning.
Contributions to the data engineering community, such as open-source projects or technical forums.
