Pinnacle is looking for motivated and qualified individuals to join our firm. Continued strong growth has created an opportunity for an Staff Engineer in our Maple Grove, MN office. The qualified applicant selected for this position will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge drone technology, equipment, and engineering design software. This opportunity will also provide the opportunity to engage with experienced staff to meet the engineering, regulatory compliance, and wide variety of permitting needs of our transportation, manufacturing, and industrial client base. The position is an exciting opportunity to create and design comprehensive solutions to our client’s complex engineering opportunities. Work will include a broad range of projects, including, engineering site design, compliance reporting, stormwater, facility and site assessments, field data collection including use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or “drones” for aerial mapping and engineering assessments, environmental media sampling, and environmental remediation system design, implementation, operation, and maintenance.

Essential job duties:
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D design software and other associated software to complete engineering design plans and specifications.
Collect and analyze data from construction and environmental sites utilizing UAS.
Utilize UAS to conduct inspections on critical infrastructure and structures.
Preparation of environmental permit applications and plans, and the supporting calculations to meet State and Federal requirements.
Preparation of engineering feasibility assessments.
Communicating with State and Federal regulatory agencies as part of permit preparation and regulatory interpretation.
Construction management and oversight.
Environmental remediation system development, installation, operation, and maintenance.
Ability and willingness to travel for field work or work at client sites.
Completion of required safety training (i.e. 40-Hour Hazwoper Training);
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Civil, Environmental, or Construction or Engineering.
2 – 5 years of engineering experience (reading plans, specs, utilizing design software, and solving engineering problems)
Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D design software.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
FE certification required and willingness to pursue a PE
Supervisory Responsibilities : This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This job operates in both office and up to 1/3 of the time in field site locations.
Physical Demands ( The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job).
Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) is required for this position.
Applicants must be able to work in out-of-office locations that may feature terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within industrial facilities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required prior to job placement.
Safety training will be provided by Pinnacle
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time exempt position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Some local and overnight travel is expected.
