Team Overview
The commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth cannot be underestimated. We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and partners. For years, TikTok has played a central role in the shopping journey for the Beauty category with #TikTokMadeMeBuyIt. Beauty is one of the most influential & fastest-growing categories at TikTok Shop, and we are looking for an ambitious and pragmatic Business Development Leader to step-change the pace of brand & seller acquisition to accelerate Category growth.
About the Role
This Program Manager role will ideate, own, and execute multiple programs and projects that help TikTok Shop Beauty grow, while delivering a differentied experience across shoppers, creators, and brands. The Category PM will analyze specific business problems within the category, partner with Category Managers and cross-functional owners to develop the right, programmatic solutions, and deliver projects and own ongoing responsibilities to solve those business problems.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Category leadership to identify and prioritize the most impactful business challenges that need a category-wide solution
- Work with Category Mangers and their sellers to understand their needs and barriers to continued business growth, ideate the right solutions along with cross-functional partners, and deliver scalable solutions through strong project management
- Create and execute Beauty category-specific programs that focus on specific sets of customers, sellers, creators or cross-functional opportunities
- Apply TikTok platform perspective to improve efficiency of business operation, including identifying pain points and needs of different ecosystem roles (sellers, partners, creators)
- Conduct in-depth analyses to synthesize operational best practices and identify key success factors for seller success
- Develop, execute, and deliver Category special projects which span areas such as customer acquisition & category penetration growth, growing repeat purchases, streamlining category UX quality, category campaign management, and seller fulfillment improvement, among others
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years' developing, executing, and delivering complex cross-functional projects in for an ecommerce business
- 2+ years' experience working in a retail, ecommerce marketplace, or content commerce environment in category management, program management, product management, or project management
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, proficient in data analysis tools, and capable of synthesizing business insights from operational data
- Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration, skilled at moving things forward.
Preferred qualification
- Experience delivering programs and projects for ecommerce marketplace, retail, or social platform
