Role: Cloud Engineer
Type: Contract
Contract Location: 1000 Parkwood, Atlanta, GA (onsite, locals only)
Contract Duration: 11 months
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: VMware deployment, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
Maintain Virtualization infrastructure user access roles, cloud integration and automation workflow documentation and standards
Networking experience - NSX-T - Installation, Configuration and Troubleshooting experience
UCS Server Infrastructure Management
Experience deploying container-based systems on public/private/hybrid clouds
Collaborate with IT Security to implement cloud-related security and compliance policies
Excellent problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills
Skill in managing and maintaining various virtualization related technologies, including Configuration Management tools
Knowledge about API design standards, design patterns and best practices
Knowledge and experience designing and implementing SOA and API Governance
Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, data storage and security
Accountable for creating robust, technically detailed "MOP" (Method of Procedure) for service integration and implementation
Independently analyze existing tools for missing efficiencies or gaps and develop new processes for addressing automation opportunities.
Independently support internal and external teams in relation to upcoming platform initiatives
Provide performance and capacity guidance by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
1+ years of in-depth hands-on work experience implementing and supporting GCP infrastructure and topologies
Minimum Qualifications: Generally, 5 years of related experience OR generally 3 years of related experience if candidate has an advanced degree
Knowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies plus the ability to apply these to architectural needs
Proven experience and understanding of architecture principles across infrastructure platforms, security, data, integration, and ETSI models
Experience working with containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, etc)
Experience being an administrator on a variety of Linux distributions
Strong experience with networking, storage technologies and Cloud hosting and infrastructure
experience of large-scale physical server provisioning and automation, including rapid deployment, configuration, management, and service orchestration
Familiar with the concept of software defined networking and Containers
Experience with automation, x86 servers, storage systems, and network systems
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Scripting and Orchestration skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years hands-on experience in designing and deploying Anthos within multi-cloud and hybrid platform
Take personal ownership of problems and drive them to solutions
Cloud Management Platforms
Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
