Job Description Job Description Description: Our Flower Buyer plays a critical role in helping us maintain our reputation as a leader in the floral industry. This individual is the principal buyer for all flowers, design supplies, and corresponding hardgoods. This position works closely with all company departments and the individual must possess strong attention to detail and effective communication. The buyer is a leader in the company and works hand in hand with sales and operations.
Responsibilities:
Acquire flowers for the needs of all departments
Organize the purchasing needs of the company; including by not limited to, weekly floral purchases, purchasing for special events
Research to ensure our flower and plant products are top quality and fairly priced
Communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and gaining product knowledge
Manage the cost of goods sold expenses with intelligent purchasing, engaged leadership and continuing education
Set pricing of all flower and plant products
Drive continuing education for the entire company in regards to flower, plant, processing, care, and general product knowledge
Coordinate all logistics pertaining to the delivery of supplies to the Design Center
